Monday, December 8th, 2008
We have lots of fun today with the Hungarian Christmas greeting, and learn a little about Hungary’s Christmas customs.
Thanks to Alex Fenson, who called in the Hungarian Christmas greeting! He has a show called “The New Forest Podcast.” Check it out here!
As a special bonus, we hear Miss Karmyn Tyler’s special recording of “Silent Night”, which she recorded in 2006 for the first year of the Lifespring Advent Calendar Show.
Be sure to listen to the entire show for a good laugh!

We travel to the Netherlands today to learn how to say Merry Christmas in Dutch. We learn about where the name “Santa Claus” comes from, too, plus lots of other customs from Holland.
Today we’re taking a Mediterranean Cruise from Protugal over to Greece! Find out how to say Merry Christmas in one of the oldest languages on the planet and a bit about a Greek Christmas.
Portuguese is the language of the day, and we see the similarities between Portugal’s traditional Christmas celebrations and your host, Steve Webb’s family celebration. Though there is no Portuguese or Brazilian heritage in the family, the way Christmas is celebrated has some striking resemblances!
